South Africa: Union Backs Outcomes Education

Johannesburg — THE 233000-strong South African Democratic Teachers' Union (Sadtu) would resist any attempt to scrap SA's outcomes-based education (OBE) system, the union said on Friday.

The call to review OBE and, "if needs be, issue its death certificate", was made in a discussion document, called the Education Roadmap, released by the African National Congress (ANC) for public debate last week.
