Kampala — When it was formed, many dismissed it as a party headed by an old man, but now Progressive People's Party (PPP) is worrying opposition parties.
According to insiders, the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), fraught with internal wrangles, is worried about the steady and organised growth of the party.
What is giving FDC leaders sleepless nights is that the party's main objective for the 2011 election is to topple it (FDC) as the main opposition party.
PPP is led by veteran politician Bidandi Ssali who was a top strategist of the National Resistance Movement (NRM). Speculation is rife that key FDC leaders are trooping to Kiwatule Recreation Centre, PPP's base, to meet him.
