Kampala — UGANDAN runners dominated the fifth edition of the MTN Kampala marathon, taking home five of the six titles that were up for grabs yesterday.

Kenyans won the men's event in the last three years, and also took last year's women's title.

The annual event attracted over 10,800 runners, some of them chief executive officers and their employees as well as elite athletes from Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Nigeria.

Proceeds from the marathon will go to charity.

UPDF runner Francis Musani beat off strong runners to win the main men's 42.1km race.
