Angola: Catholics Celebrate King Christ Feast

Luanda — Angola's Catholic church celebrated on Sunday the Feast of King the Christ Feast which has the goal of showing to the people the power of Jesus, as well as recognise his authority, ANGOP has learnt.

With this feast, instituted on March 11, 1925 by Pope Pius XI, to motivate Catholic believers to recognise in public that the leader of the church is King Christ, catholics finished the liturgical year, starting another one, whose first stage is the Advent (time of preparation to receive Jesus).

At this day, also dedicated to the Angolan Catholic young people, the first and the second reading came from Prophet Ezekiel and Saint Paul's letter to the Corinthians, which announce Christ's coming to the world and his resurrection.

Chants of glory were the highlight of the celebrations held in various parishes countrywide.
