Ondjiva — At least 91 peasant families will benefit from working instruments and seeds for the 2008/2009 season, in an effort to secure food self-sufficiency in the region.
This was said by the director of Agriculture and Rural Development, Rafael Albino, who was speaking on the occasion of the launch of the agricultural season.
According to him, his institution this year has about 1,000 farming inputs to assist needy families affected by the floods that hit the province early this year.
He said the agricultural department will organise the rural communities activity, increase production and improve the population's food security in the region.
On the other hand, Cunene provincial governor, António Didalelwa, considered as a must that the population gets engaged in productive activity in order to secure food self-sufficiency.
