Sumbe — Angolan minister of Youth and Sports, Gonçalves Muanduma, Saturday in Sumbe, central Kwanza Sul province, delivered 40 bicycles, helmets and t-shirts to the Provincial Association of Cycling, as part of the Government's effort to disseminate the sport in the region.
He said on the occasion the move is an evidence of the Government's will to support the sport in the country.
"Youths in their free times must be busy practicing a sport in order to keep their physical conditions," he stated.
He spoke of the need to relaunch cycling in Kwanza Sul, in order to make the national championship wider.
The official assured that the Government will assist private operators that have an initiative to developed sports, providing them with incentives.
In his turn, the provincial governor, Serafim do Prado, thanked the move of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and appealed to the representatives of local associations to be dynamic in helping relaunch sport activity in the region.
He appealed to the Provincial Association of Cycling to preserve the new equipment and invest in all categories.
