Nairobi — Angola's 1º de Agosto women basketball team Sunday evening thrashed Djoliba of Maly by 100-58, at the closing of the 4th edition of the African Cups Winners Cup, Angop learned.

The Malian ladies, well prepared physically and with some individual performance, managed to win the first half of the game by 24-19, but the Angolans overcame the situation and changed the score to favourable 47-39.

Sonia Guadalupe and Nacissela Mauricio were the best players by scoring 21 points each, whereas Nassira and Aminata were the highlight of the opponent team.

Thus, 1º de Agosto lead group A with six points, whereas Mozambique's Desportivo de Maputo lead group B.
