Uganda: Police to Expand Highway Patrol

Kampala — Police are set to increase traffic personnel on all major highways in a move to curb road accidents during the festive season.

Police spokesperson for the Kampala extra Region Simeo Nsubuga says the police crackdown on traffic offenders will continue until road carnage reduces.

October statistics reveal that 45 people perished in different road accidents in the Kampala extra region, which is the highest number since January.
