Montreal — Angolan ambassador to Canadá, Miguel N'Zau Puna, said Friday in Edmonton, capital of the province of Alberta, that peace has created a new environment for the country's economic development.
Miguel N'Zau Puna, who was speaking at the opening of a workshop on "Angola's economic and commercial potential and investment environment" appealed to Canadian businesses to invest in the country with local partners, as a means of helping with the national reconstruction and construction of a modern and prosperous society.
The diplomat expressed the wish to see Canada as a great business partner to Angola, having asserted that the country is currently going through an environment of peace and political and macroeconomic stability.

n her turn, Beatriz Costa, speaking on behalf of the commercial department of the Angolan Embassy to USA, said the country's legislation on private investments grants investors legal stability, incentives, security and trust.
She also spoke of the legal procedures for investment in Angola and the responsibilities of the National Agency of Private Investments (ANIP).
During her address, she mentioned such sectors of the economy like civil construction, agriculture, electricity, water, infrastructures and tourism as areas of opportunity for private investment in Angola. More than 500 Angolans live currently in Alberta province.
