Former Kaizer Chiefs forward Louis Agyemang is yet to begin training with Kumasi Asante Kotoko because the Porcupine Warriors have not come up with the cash to tie him down.
Kotoko and the player announced two weeks ago that they have agreed a worth 55,000 GHC for a two-year contract but failure by the Porcupine Warriors to come up with the money has stalled the deal.
Agyemang was in Kumasi last week and handed a cheque by the club but the cheque bounced and the player has since returned to Accra.
He has already met with Kotoko coach Maurice Cooreman but insist he will only begin training when he lays his hands on the money.
Kotoko are hopeful that a deal can be wrapped up this week but the set back will alert Hearts of Oak who had earlier on failed to reach a financial deal with the player whose goals them won them the 2004 CAF Confederations Cup.
Hearts will need Agyemang's goal scoring prowess up front and have been keen to point out to the player that he could spend a lifetime on the Kotoko bench with Eric Bekoe, Kwadwo Poku and potentially Alex Asamoah all at the club.
