WITH the aim to be a first class rugby playing club participating in international tours as well as developing grassroots and school boys rugby, Racing Club of Lagos has been invited to participate in the 2008 Emirates Dubai International 7's tournament in Dubai U.A.E
The event is expected to flag-off from November 27, through November 29, 2008 .
In the competition there are two teams per section.
These are International Vets and International Overseas. For the Vets, the teams are Buccaneers, Hurricanes Vets II, Kukri Wooden Spoon, Agility Golden Dragons, Watembezi Potbellies, Sunflower Hamilton Dynamiters, Moscow Lads, Walferdange Rugby de Renert, Bishops Stortford, Barrelhouse Vets, Racing Club, Christain Noble, Bali Legends, AGRFU Legends, Persian Team, and Swansea University Old Boys.
While for the Overseas Teams are Atlantic, RICS Lions Amplitude Capital Otters' Saudex Wooden Spoon Blues, PWC, Wyvern Harlequins, Dinamo, Old Bristolians RFC, The Castaways, Racing Club, XI Squadron Rugby, CSG Old Boys, Pyrenees 7s, The Royal Airforce, Vauxhall Motors and HMS Lancaster.
However in the playing squad, 12 players are participating in the Overseas 7s competition while 17 players are expected to participate in the veterans 10s competition. The West Africa club is the only club in Nigeria participating in the tournament
