Luanda — The deputy speaker of the Angolan National Assembly, João Lourenço, left the country this Monday for Arusha City, Tanzania, to participate in the plenary session of the assembly of SADC's Parliamentary Forum, happening from 26 to 28 November.
Speaking briefly to the press at Luanda's 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, João Lourenço said that the participants to the meeting will make the balance of the activities carried out since the holding of the previous plenary meeting and discuss the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The Plenary of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Parliamentary Forum also has the task of approving the annual budget and the auditing accounts and it makes recommendations to SADC's authorities on any matter, among other issues.
According to the official, the technical commissions started the preparation of the forum on 20 November.
The Southern African Development Community (SADC) comprises Angola, Botswana, DRC, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, the Seychelles, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
