Kampala — PATRICK Odora scored seven goals while Moses Akena netted six as UPDF beat Nkumba 43-19 in the national handball league at Ndejje grounds on Saturday.
Army side UPDF overcame Nkumba University in the first 20 minutes, restricting the frustrated student team stars Eric Andiva and Denis Okidi to seven goals apiece.
A combined effort that yielded 14 goals from Raymond Komakech and Tony Olweny ensured Ndejje University team defeated Uganda Police team 27-20 in a tight match that provided highlights of the day.
In the ladies category, hosts Ndejje recovered from the many loses in the league after attaining a 22-18 win against Nkumba.
Although Nkumba's Nuru Nanteza raised six goals for her team, Miriam Abenakyo's seven goals and Diana Nakanjako's six saw Ndejje grab a win.
UPDF also beat Police 23-16 with their star player Harriet Apako and youngest player Sofia Naibugo in top form notching more goals for the army side.
