Accra Hearts of Oak needed two late goals to take all three points in their opening League game against newly-promoted Saint Mirren.
The Phobians under a new coach Kosta Papic and with many new players on display won thanks to goals from old boy Eric Gawu and former Asante Kotoko winger Douglas Nkrumah, who is making his debut for the Phobians.
Gawu scored the first goal for Hearts before Nkrumah added a late second straight from a corner kick.
It was not a vintage Hearts of Oak performance as the Phobians were dominated by the newly-promoted side but after a poor campaign last term, Kosta Papic will be delighted with how the latest one has got off.
Victory and three points means Hearts share the second spot with Kessben FC who also beat Sekondi Eleven Wise on the opening day.
Saint Mirren who have promised attractive and eye catching football this season would have realised based on this performance that they need the killer instinct to survive in the top flight.
