Kabala — In its drive to provide quality and affordable service to its subscribers, Africell Lintel Sierra Leone has officially opened its cell site in Kabala.
According to the chief commercial officer, Joe Amara Bangali Jnr., the opening of the site in the township would help strengthen the company's network coverage.
Bangali told his audience at Sonfon Revival Center that the township has the potential for tourist attractions. He said the launch of the site is a demonstration of the confidence the company has in the people of Kabala, adding that they have already set up a temporal customer care shop in the township.
"We have over 600,000 subscribers countrywide. We are the biggest GSM operators in the country," he said, adding that by the start of 2009, they would have established 40 cell sites across the country.
Bangali said their tariffs are affordable noting that they have a promotion of 19 units to six international destinations. "We have lots of value added services which give our subscribers the chance to stay connected. Most of our value added services are true SMS," he said.
The chief commercial officer noted that since they started operating in Sierra Leone in 2005, the company has grown considerably in terms of subscribers and their tariffs.
Acting chairperson of the Koinadugu District Council, Rugiatu Marah assured Africell of her council's support whenever they are called upon.
"We recognize Africell as a business company in the township," she said.
Africell's Franchisee officer in Kabala, Nasir Makie said over 90% of youths in the township are loyal subscribers to the company.
He said Africell means a lot to the people of Kabala, especially the youths.
Meanwhile, the launching was climaxed by a raffle draw where people were giving the opportunity to win fantastic prizes, including bags of rice, generator and mobile phones.
