One of the contestants for this year's Miss University beauty show has said she was more than capable of winning the contest which is slated for November 29 this year.
Adeline Worley who is a second year student studying Information Technology at the Njala university college told Concord Times that she was cajoled by her friends to contest because of her special qualities.
"My friends urged me to go ahead and contest, saying 'you will win because of your beauty'. This is my first time of contesting in a beauty pageant," she said.
Worley said she sees the contest as a strange thing to her but expressed hope that she would definitely be the proud winner of the car.
"After I would have won the contest, I will make myself a role model in the society for other girls to follow. I will surely help promote beauty for charity," she said.
She said the theme of the contest which is 'Beauty for Charity' is appropriate, adding that she would work towards improving the lives of the needed and the poor.
"I only hope the contest will be free and fair," she noted.
