Sierra Leone: Wava Competition -Solar Spikers Opens With Victory

Solar Spikers opened their Western Area Volleyball Association (WAVA) inter-club competition with a good start as they celebrated two victories in two matches.

Both the male and female sides of Spikers defeated Sixers by three sets in a game of 5 sets and on Sunday they both defeated Forceians in similar sets.

Another team that celebrated two match victories in a row was Al Bang's male team; they defeated Forceians on Saturday before defeating Miracle Corner 3 sets to 1.

However, the female side lost their opening match against Forceians 3 set to 0 but bounced back in their second game on Sunday to defeat Miracle Corner 3 sets to 1.

On Saturday, the male and female teams of the Young Stadium Stars defeated Miracle Corner in three sets, while Sixers' male team made a come back from the defeat suffered against Solar Spikers on Saturday to win 3 sets to 1 against Yong Stadium Stars.

But their female side was held to a 2 sets tie by Yong Stadium Stars which will see a replay match after it was called off due to bad light.

Government Technical School won the first set 25:10, but lost the second sets 25: 22. However Government Technical won the final set which was the decider in a best of 15.

MGHS would now face Freetown Secondary School for Girls (FSSG), while Government Technical would face defending champions, Government Rokel Secondary School.

In another encounter, United Muslim Association Secondary School (UMASS) eliminated United Methodist Church Secondary School (UMC) 2:1.
