Nigeria: Country's Economic Outlook Needs to Be Refocused -Adeyemi

The President of Success Power International and Pastor of Daystar Christian Center, Mr. Samuel Adeyemi has harped on the need for a modification in the nation's goals and visions, and called for a change in the nation's political and economic outlook.

Speaking during the launch of his book, 'Success is who you are' in Lagos Monday, Adeyemi lamented the absence of focused and visionary leadership in the country, blaming it for the backwardness of the Nigerian economy over the years.

According to Adeyemi, "The backwardness of the Nigerian economy can be attributed to the absence of visionary leaders, who do not know the laws guiding and guaranteeing success, growth and development.

This has made the leaders to churn out policies that lacked focus and which lacks the capacity to address the situation in the country. This has brought to the fore, the need for a radical alteration in the country's social, economic and political landscape."

He harped on the need to develop and help small scale businesses to thrive, adding that it is a very important factor to the growth and development of the economy in general and the populace in particular.

He lamented the backwardness and lack of development in the African continent despite its enormous human and material resources, attributing it to a faulty foundation and tradition put forward by our forebears.

He said, "Africa is supposed to be the richest continent in the world, based on its enormous mineral and human resources. Success has become a culture in the continent, because of most African cultures are not built on sound principles but on mysterious living and superstitious beliefs.

The continent seems to be controlled by overwhelming mystery and confused thinking while the lives of the people are built on chance. These are why it seems like the continent is under a curse. For example, the most prosperous countries in terms of mineral deposits are at war. An example that comes to mind is the Congo."

He disclosed that it is set to address the problems of the country and the continent, with a campaign of reawakening and realignment of focus, and that it hopes to achieve this with the book - 'Success is who you are.'

He noted that the book will provide people with the principles of success that is designed to cause changes in the way and manner people think and behave.

He further stated the book which is written in an easy-to-read language is its crusade against failure and aimless leadership, adding that it is designed to change the economic outlook of the country and the continent.

"The book is designed as an easy-to-read guide to enhance individuals' ability to lay hold of the deep success principles (truths) they can employ profitably. The author's firm conclusion is that an individual is an architect of how his/her life turns out.

The author believes that success comes from seven planes: Who you are; what you think; what you see; what you know; how you feel; what you say and what you do. All those are well-explained in the 161-page, 15-chapter book that also contains power success principles such as the power of imagination, the power of insight, of dreams, information, education and action.

Success Is Who You Are is written in such an amazingly simple and easy-to-read style to serve as a definite roadmap on how to dream, believe in your dreams and pursue your dream because you know you can; and you will, just like Barack Obama," he noted.
