Luanda — The efforts of the Head of State of Gabon, Omar Bongo, who is the outgoing chairperson of the Gulf of Guinea Commission, were praised last Tuesday, in Luanda, by the Angolan President, José Eduardo dos Santos.
The Angolan statesman exalted his Gabonese counterpart's efforts during the opening of the second regional group summit, which comprises eight countries namely Angola, DRC, Congo Brazzaville, Cameroon, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria and Sao Tome Principe.
"Under the guidance of Omar Bongo, the Gulf of Guinea Commission started to materialise its programme in order to reinforce ties of cooperation and solidarity among the member states and create conditions for mutual trust, peace and favourable security for harmonious development", José Eduardo dos Santos said.
The Angolan president also said that he is sure that the Luanda Summit will be made a decisive landmark for the cooperation and sustainable development of our peoples.
