Delegations from Guinea Bissau arrived Lagos today en route to Warri, Delta State for the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) U-20 Cup tagged Ibori Cup which kicks off today.
Their arrival swells the list of participating teams in the country to 15 countries including Nigeria. The championship was originally billed for 16 countries but Cape Verde withdrew participation. Guinea Football Delegations arrived on Monday by Bellview Airline. The team was led by Conde Fah.
They were lodged in transit at MEI Hotel in Lagos before they flew to Warri by Arik Airline. Gambia, Sierra Leone and Benin arrived on Tuesday while Ghana, Liberia, Niger, Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso and Cote d' Ivoire joined other delegations on Wednesday. Togo, Senegal arrived yesterday.
Meanwhile, Organisers of the competition have confirmed thirty referees' officials for the tourney (15 referees and 15 assistants). One abiter and one assistant were selected from all the 15 participants' countries that have shown interest in the competition.
