Asmara — The Eritrean Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Girmai Gebremariam, expressed surprise with attempts by the US Ambassador to Eritrea to find excuses for the TPLF regime's official rejection of the Boundary Commission's ruling on border delimitation. Mr. Girmai pointed out that the US Ambassador's attempt in an interview with the VOA to advocate and defend as if the TPLF regime accepted the EBBC ruling is but totally paradoxical.
Noting that the TPLF regime and its master, the US Administration, left no stone unturned to not only impede the work of the Boundary Commission but also derail it from its legal path and change the ruling, Ambassador Girmai underlined that the Eritrean-Ethiopian boundary has been clearly defined through virtually demarcation thanks to the Commission's strict adherence to the rule of law.
He further underscored that despite the fact that Eritrea has done its level best to normalize relations with the United States, Washington strained bilateral relations through confiscating the remittance sent by Eritrean citizens to their respective families, closing down the Eritrean Consulate in Oakland, imposing arms embargo to the non-existing Eritrean purchase of arms from the US, and leveling condemnation regarding the fabricated so-called Eritrean-Djiboutian issue with a view to creating a crisis situation, as well as resorting to a host of other anti-Eritrea acts.

Well, the Eritrean government seems to still speak like it is in the jungles. The first thing the Eritrean regime should do is use professional tone and language when it deals with our government. America does not have sympathy to a rogue regime, especially if it talks using words of a high school drop out. Diplomacy requires minimum level of professionalism. Secondly, Eritrea needs to understand that its invasion of Ethiopia in 1998 in a violation of UN regulations does not help its cause in Washington DC as well as among United Nations officials. The best way to correct that mistake is to cease lawlessness in the country by establishing a multi-party rule, ending persecution of evangelicals and coming to the table with the Ethiopian regime for a dialogue on demarcation implementation on the ground. The third thing Eritrea should do is stop its support for anti-America radicals in Somalia and end its anti-America rhetoric. Only 5 years ago, the Eritrean regime was begging us to build a military base in Assab and to suport our troops in the invasion of Iraq. All of the sudden, the anti-America rhetoric of the Isaias Regime seems childish to our leaders in Washington and shows lack of maturity on Asmara. Please grow up.
Hi David,
I am puzzled with your assertion that "Only 5 years ago, the Eritrean regime was begging us to build a military base in Assab and to suport our troops in the invasion of Iraq."
I am curious to learn in more detail about this issue. May you please tell me where you got this. Thank you.
Totally false. Eritrea never invaded Ethiopia, it was rather a military tactic for the impending Ethiopianregime cgange conspiracy supported by the CIA. Check your facts, or may be it is just pure hatred.

Both of you are Ethiopians, I can smell it!!
No comment because you are and will never be on the level of Eritreans.
Using diplomatic language to voice voice disapproval of unprincipled activities is like dressing an old whore in a new dress.
"civilised manners", "diplomacy"????? These words are english words but they will have to be translated to the US-government.
And you two Ethiopians: Akatariotch!!!

The Eritrean Ambassador should learn to speak in a normal deplomatic language. I don't think the US government believes it has a master-slave relationship with Ethiopia or its leaders. In diplomatic language it said that the US and Ethiopia share some common interests to protect. Obviously Eritrea may feel left out, but it cannot have US sympathy if it does not behave in a civilized manner
