Nigeria: FG Sacks FHA MD, Appoints New One

Abuja — Federal Government has approved the removal of the Acting Managing Director (MD) of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Felix Koyenikan.

A new Acting MD has been named to replace Koyenikan.

He is Jube Jemide, a Deputy Director in the Federal Ministry of Environment, Housing and Urban Development.

In a statement by Toni Akuneme, Special Assistant to the Minister of State, Environment, Housing and Urban Development, Jemide, who hails from Warri North in Delta State is a 1979 Architectural Engineering graduate of Tennessee State University, U.S.A.

He joined the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing as a Building Officer in 1984 and has served in various capacities, including Presidential Committees on Lagos Megacity; NDDC; National Stadium/Games Village Abuja.

Meanwhile, Federal Government has ratified the award of contracts for 31ecological projects at N11 billion in various parts of the country as approved by President Umaru Yar'Adua.

The 31 erosion sites captured are located in:

1. Ojodu - Abiodun in Ogun State valued at N299.5 million.

2. Isingwu Umuahia and Ugwegbe Ariam, both in Abia State, valued at N281 million.

3. Otuo, Owan East, Edo State (N182 million.)

4. Abaji, FCT (N102 million).

5. Gombe Town N205 million.

6. Ahiara, Ahiazu Mbaise, Imo State N230

million.

7. Ikot Obio Ata, Akwa Ibom (N299 million).

8. Army Barracks, Ikom, Cross River State (N190 million).

9. Zango-Kataf, Kaduna State (N156 million).

10. Gashua, Bade, Yobe State (N228 million).

11. Waste Disposal Incinerator at ABUTH, Zaria (N83 million).

12. Federal Medical Centre, Azare, Bauchi State (N60

million).

13. Polo

Field, GRA, Maiduguri, Bornu State (N176 million).

14. Umunekwu, Isikwuato, Abia State (N279 million).

15. Gerei Bridge, Adamawa (N130 million).

16. Isampou Shoreline, Bayelsa State (N164 million).

17. Ngomari, Borno State (N166 million).

18. Kakuri Kaduna State (N85 million).

19. Obokun, Osun State (N135 million).

20. Ikot Enobong, Cross River State (N169 million).
