Luanda — Angola's Development Bank (BDA) has invested about Usd 42 million in 12 construction material production projects in the provinces of Luanda, Cabinda, Bengo, Huambo and Kwanza Norte, aiming at speeding up the national reconstruction programme.
The information was released by BDA managing board chairman, Paixão Franco, during the seminar on "Present and future of construction materials in Angola".
The official said the projects are associated with the areas of carpentry, inerts, ceramics, crane assembling plants and timber exploration.
According to him, these investments have created 62 new jobs.
Paixão Franco stated as well that his institution has in the pipeline another 32 projects, which indicates a demand for credit in the sector of construction materials of about Usd 250 million.
In addition, according to the source, BDA might also finance the production of cement artefacts, inerts, ceramics industry, rubber items, plastic materials and timber.
