Angola: BNI Expects to Reach Usd 85 Million This Year

Luanda — Angola's "Banco de Negócios Internacional" (BNI) expects to reach Usd 85 million of proper funds by the end of 2008.

The information is contained in a note from BNI that reached Angop on Friday.

The International Business Bank stresses in the note the rise in its social capital to Usd 55,5 million, adding that until September this year, the institution reached an amount of Usd 24 million.

The bank will open 40 new branches of its "Express Network 24" in all provinces of the country in 2009 to deal with the development of retail and electronic operations.

The BNI that celebrated its second anniversary on November 13 this year, has currently nine branches of its "Express Network 24" counters and two business centres in the provinces of Luanda, Benguela, Zaire, Kwanza Sul, Kwanza Norte, Lunda Norte, Huíla and Cunene.

It is among Angola's eight major banks and the first to issue Visa and MasterCard debt and credit cards in the country.
