Luanda — Angolan Health minister, José Van-Dúnem, Saturday in Luanda reaffirmed the Government's commitment to fighting Hiv/Aids affecting not only the country but also the world.
The minister made the statement at the end of the 20th solidarity march against Aids, promoted by the Angolan Network of Aids Service Organisations (Anaso), held under the motto "Leadership stop Aids: Keep promise".
José Van-dúnem said that the commitment is being fulfilled, not by the Government alone, but with the assistance of social partnership and the civil society that are engaged in the prevention of the disease.
After calling for more attention to the youths, as the most vulnerable group in the transmission of the scourge, the minister urged for an easier access to treatment of all Hiv-infected people, mainly pregnant women.
The government is working hard to hold activities of the kind until 2011, in all provinces and districts of the country, stressed the minister who praised the contribute of the media in covering the march and sensitising the population into joining the activity.
The event was attended by government officials, MPs, representatives of NGOs, of the civil society and other people.
