Angola: Ruling Party Acknowledges Role of Cooperation in Education Sector

28 November 2008

Luanda — Angola's ruling MPLA party information secretary, Fragata de Morais, Friday in Luanda, said that the cooperation ties between Angola and Cuba are more and more reinforced in education, particularly in the higher education domain.

The official said so at the end of a visit paid by the Cuban Higher Education minister, Juan Vela Váldés, to the facilities of MPLA Provincial Committee, where he met with the party's acting first secretary, Maria Carolina Fortes.

According to Fragata de Morais, the cooperation with Cuba in this domain will be of an added value for Angola, as it will enable the training of Angolans in education, health and engineering fields.

The personnel will benefit from training programmes in Angola with the coming of Cuban lecturers, or in Cuba, through the sending of Angolans to that Latin American country.
