The much awaited OGD U-18 Youth clubs soccer championship will formally kick off tomorrow.
The Opening ceremony which will take place inside the Joju Mini Stadium in Sango Otta would feature amongst other things, a colorful parade of all the participating teams as well as the opening match of
the championship between OTUBUSIN United Football of Ijebu -Ode and the MSI Red Lions FC of Sango Otta.
A total of 32 football clubs drawn from all local government areas of Ogun State and Lagos State are taking part in the championship which is expected to showcase the best of youth club football.
The Championship would be declared formally open by Governor Gbenga Daniel with the ceremonial kick off at the opening ceremony after the march past of all participating teams.
Other dignitaries expected at the opening ceremony are the Ogun State Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Salimat Badru, the State commissioner for Youth and Sports, Bukola Olopade, State Commissioner for Agriculture Chief Layi Taiwo, Captains of Industries, Traditional Rulers and representatives of the Nigeria Football Federation.
Other clubs participating in the OGD Gold Cup are Pepsi Football Academy and OGROMA FC of Abeokuta; Sum-Emabargo FC AND West Kangol FC of Sango Otta; Adesina Babes and Al-Fatai FC of Lagos as well as REMO United FC of Sagamu.
The MSI Sports Management team has said that the yearly event would be upgraded in subsequent editions to a full fledged national youth clubs championship
