Nigeria: Kwara Local Council to Build 200 Housing Units

Ilorin East Local Government Council in Kwara State has commended moves to build 200 housing units, in collaboration with a private developer.

The estate which is to be sited in Akerebiata area of the state capital, will be named after the state governor on completion.

Chairman of the council, Alhaji Bibire Ajape, said that work will commence on the project before the end of the year, with facilities such as road, shopping complex, recreational centre, bank, fence and security to be provided for the estate.

Ajape noted that the council had decided to implement projects that would reduce poverty within the area while enumerating some of his achievements since he assumed office last year.

In his remark, the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief James Ayeni, commended the bold move by the council and urged him to complete the project on schedule.
