Kampala — Angolan Parliament speaker, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, Monday in Kampala, highlighted the Government's effort to reduce poverty in the country.
The Parliament speaker was addressing the plenary session of the 31st extraordinary session of the African Parliamentary Union (APU) Conference.

The official was participating in the debate about "Development of agriculture in Africa in view to the world crisis and contribute to reduction of poverty".
According to him, the main Angolan Government concern is to reduce poverty and famine and fight poverty in the four coming year.
"For this reason, the model of development of our country in the coming times will be based on the strong growth of job opportunities as the main factor of individual revenue and as a result, of the families'," he added.
The National Assembly also spoke of the successful legislative election held in the country in September this year, after three decades of war that devastated the country.
He also informed of the country's achievements since peace was attained, particularly in education and health, repair and construction of infrastructures.
On the other hand, Fernando da Piedade expressed concern at the world financial crisis which, after having practically dragged all developed economies, is now starting to disrupt the world markets.
