Speaking on the success of the event, Chief Edem Duke, Chairman and initiator of Nitex stated that there is a big appetite for Nigerian fashion in the Caribbeans and the desire for us to find a way of twining our carnival with those of the Caribbean. AAnd most encouraging is the fact that they want us to do this over and over againl; not just in one island in the Caribbeans but to move around to other islands - especially the direct flight between people of the two regions. We will be articulating this in the next few weeks and we are encouraged by it all. As I have always said, there are people who are just waiting for Nigeria to rekindle its position and take its rightful place," he said.

The event was witnessed by several diplomats, led by the Deputy Chief of Missions, Ambassador Wakil, from Washington and His Excellency, Ambassador Jerry Ogokwe from Austria, who is also representing Nigeria in Slovakia. Other diplomats include Ibrahim Alwalu, Consul General in New York, Chude Okafor, Consul General in Atlanta, a representative from the Rt. Hon.
