South Africa: Ajax Hero Confident of Beating Bucs

1 December 2008

Ajax Cape Town's Telkom Knockout semifinal hat-trick hero, Sifiso Vilakazi says his team is ready to beat Orlando Pirates and keep the trophy in Cape Town this season.

Vilakazi showed no mercy when he ripped through his former teammates at Free State Stars to send the Urban Warriors to a dream final against the Mighty Buccaneers on December 13.

Speaking to KickOff.com after the game against Ea Lla Koto in East London yesterday, Vilakazi remains unfazed by the great form being displayed by Orlando Pirates.

"The fact that we are going to play against a team that is in such good form also gives us motivation to double our efforts in preparing for the finals.

"We are not afraid of them, but we will give them the respect they deserve when we meet."

Vilakazi refused to attribute Ajax Cape Town's good run in the league to the great combination that has been developed between Mabhuti Khenyeza and himself.

"It's not true; it's all about the team efforts. Everyone has contributed to us doing well this season."

Ajax are set to meet the Buccaneers in an Absa Premiership match at Ellis Park Stadium on Saturday in what is being viewed as a dress rehearsal to the Telkom final that takes place the following weekend.

Meanwhile, KickOff.com has gathered from reliable sources at the PSL that the Telkom final will be played at the Absa Stadium in Durban on December 13.

Apparently Mafikeng was also being considered as a possibility, but in the end the vote went to Durban.
