South Africa: Bartlett Finally Signs for Celtic

1 December 2008

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Shaun Bartlett has finally been given a lifeline to revive his soccer career at Bloemfontein Celtic.

Bartlett, who was dumped by Amakhosi during the off season, has been training with Celtic for the past two weeks after being invited to the club by coach Mich D'Avray.

Phunya Sele Sele CEO Ike Augousti confirmed to KickOff.com today that Bartlett had finally signed a six-month contract with the team.

"Bartlett is officially a Celtic player as from today. He has signed with us until the end of the season but there is also an option allowing him to remain with the team next season," said Augousti.

Bartlett is set to make his debut in Celtic's colours when they visit struggling Bay United in the Absa Premiership game set for EPRU Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Sunday.

Siwelele are lying in position 15 with 7 points after 10 games.
