Luanda — The director of the National Institute of Books and Discs (Inald), AntÃ'nio Fonseca, on Monday here said that the Angolan society starts to regain interest in books, as a way of educating the youths.
AntÃ'nio Fonseca, who was speaking to the press during the holding of a book fair, in Kilamba Kiaxi District, said that many Angolan families appeared at the event, mainly children accompanied by their parents.
He said that it is now possible to correct some shortcomings that caused the change of behaviour within society and from this perspective the institution has restored the "Infants Garden" programme, that for many years was a source of creating new readers.
"In this new era of renewal of children's book, the results have been very positive and its is our goal to hold this event in other parts of the country".
In his opinion, the media still have great influence in books promotion, in stimulating reading and creating new readers.
