Luanda — Angolan filmmaker Maria João Ganga on Sunday here expressed her satisfaction at the engagement and support of public and private firms in promoting and valuing Angolan arts and artists.
Invited by ANGOP to speak about the art competition named "Image, Photography 2008", organised by the Espirito Santo Angola Bank (BESA), Maria João Ganga said that only an inattentive person can not understand the role the firms play.
"You only have to see to a theatre, dance or music programme or see and read the credits of a national film (...) to see the number of sponsors or even thanking comments. All people that develop and carry out artistic activities, like in may case, and also in the ambit of theatre or cinema are conscious and thankful about the role played by these entities", she said.
With regard to the competition, she highlighted that it is important the innovation of showing photography produced by various national photographers. It is nice the challenge of speaking about our roots and images. What a beautiful stimulus to speak like this", she said.
