Asmara — President Isaias Afwerki, who is participating in the UN Conference on Development Funding in Doha, yesterday held talks with the Emir of Qatar, Sheik Hamed Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, on enhancing bilateral relations.
The two leaders also conducted discussion on the overall situation at the global level and issues of mutual concern to both countries.
The conference which is being attended by about 40 Heads of State and representatives of 145 countries and international organizations is focusing on restructuring the world financial system, the prevailing global economic crisis and other issues related to it.
It is to be recalled that President Isaias left for Qatar on 27 November to attend the conference that would remain in session until tomorrow.
