Botswana: Thriler in Ramotwsa

Wounded title contenders Killer Giants take on a confident Letlapeng tomorrow in a Ramotswa First Division derby that has all the ingredients of a thriller.

While Killer Giants are still smarting from losing their unbeaten record to Kgabosetso, Letlapeng are in cloud nine after a win against fancied Wonder Sporting.

The surprise loss to Kgabosetso is a wake-up call to Killer Giants and a sign that they are not invincible. Hence, they are likely to treat the game against Letlapeng lightly.

Letlapeng have proved that they are no pushovers after gunning down Wonder Sporting over the weekend. The minnows will not be under pressure tomorrow like Killer Giants who need a win to boost their title chances.

In another First Division game, Wonder Sporting will be hosting Tlokweng United at Maruapula. Wonder Sporting has been experiencing mixed fortunes since the league started. It remains to be seen how they will fare tomorrow against another title-chasing side.

Former Premier League sides, Jwaneng Comets and Prisons XI will be meeting in Jwaneng.

Judging by their performance, Prisons XI still have to prove that they are serious about gaining automatic promotion to the Premier League.

On Sunday, Moshupa side Kgabosetso will visit Masitaoka in Molepolole in a game that could go either way. Kgabosetso has become one of the teams to watch. Mochudi Buffaloes will be taking on log leaders, Young Strikers in Mochudi as Kumakwane Checkers face the struggling Eastern Tigers at Sharps Grounds near Old Naledi. Tigers are still winless and another loss on Sunday will diminish chances of surviving the relegation axe.

The Mochudi side has been languishing at the bottom of the league table since the start of the season. Tigers play good football but the inability to score the easiest of chances has cost the team dearly. In the First Division North games, title contenders, Motlakase clash with FC Palapye in a Palapye derby. Motlakase have made their title ambitions very clear and look unstoppable after a 100 percent record in nine games. FC Satmos will be hosting Miscellaneous in Selebi-Phikwe while Sua Flamingoes host Orapa Bucks. BR Highlanders will welcome Orapa Wanderers in Mahalapye. All the First Division North games are played on Saturday.
