Amajita enhanced their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals of the Metropolitan COSAFA Under-20 Championships when they beat Zambia 2-0 at the De Beers Stadium.
South Africa has one game remaining against Seychelles, who lost 3-0 to Zambia on Wednesday to be played at Geleshewe.
South Africa played below par compared to the game they played against Lesotho on Friday.
The opening goal for Amajita came in the 3rd minute and so far it seems it is the fastest goal in the tournament.
It was left winger Masibusane Zongo who shocked the Zambians when his long range shot hit the back of the net.
After that goal Zambia also had chances, but the main one came in the 11th minute when their captain Harry Banda dribbled past two Amajita defenders, but his goalbound shot was cleared by the goalkeeper, who combined well with Thulani Nhlathwayo, who cleared the ball for a fruitless corner kick.
Then Amajita had a very close and clear chance in the 14th minute when Moroka Swallows striker Phumelele Bhengu beat the goalkeeper William Chibale, but he recovered to catch the ball before it crossed the line.
Zongo was in the picture again in the 31st minute when once again his long range shot went inches above the crossbar.
Zambia scored in the 37th minute from a corner kick but their goal did not count as it was disallowed for an infringement on a South African player.
In the 41st minute George Maluleka went in for the injured Bhengu and just seconds into the game he almost made it 2-0, but his shot from inside the box went over the bar. This was the last chance of the half.
Amajita increased their lead in the second half in the 64th minute when Maluleka breezed two defenders before releasing Kaizer Chiefs striker Mandla Masango, who had the easiest of jobs finishing off.
Zambia was dealt a heavy blow in the 83rd minute when Saint Nkhoma was sent off by Madagascar's referee Phabee Kanoso after a rough tackle on Philani Khwela.
The result means that technically South Africa has qualified for the semi-final unless a miracle happens and they lose to Seychelles.
