Kampala — THE Olympic Solidarity budget for the 53 African national Olympic committees will be released in Uganda on Thursday at the Imperial Royale Hotel.

The release of the budget will coincide with the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) secretary generals' conference that is due Thursday and Friday.

Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) secretary general Gabriel Oloka yesterday told a press gathering that almost all the 53 member countries are expected to arrive in the country today and tomorrow for the 25th edition of the conference. The meet will review the development of sports on the continent and also plan a way forward.

"Olympic Solidarity members will review the continent's performance and also announce the budget for the next quadrennial programme leading to the 2012 London Olympic Games," said Oloka. He added that the next four year-programme will also be drawn with emphasis on improving Africa's sports prowess.

The Olympic Solidarity has a series of programmes for sports development that include talent identification, technical courses, developing of elite athletes and training sports administrators.
