Kampala — POLITICAL leaders are ignorant about the Peace, Recovery and Development Plan (PRDP), the Lira LC5 chairperson has said.
"Although I have attended conferences about PRDP, it is not clear how the Government is implementing this plan," Franco Ojur said on Thursday.
Health and education secretary Patrick Ayena said: "I had hope that the PRDP would construct teachers' and medical workers' houses and equip schools and hospitals. But up to now, I do not know what is on the ground as far as PRDP is concerned."
Dickens Kennedy Odongo (Omoro) stressed the need to be informed about the plan so as to educate the residents about it.
Dinah Bua (Railways, central division) said while Police patrol vehicles had been purchased under the programme, there was need for more support, especially to cover the villages.
Aromo LC3 chairperson Robert Ogwang urged the Government to sensitise leaders on the programme.
