Angola: Minister Defends Training of Artists From Early Age

Angolan minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva, Monday at Catumbela, central Benguela province, spoke of the need for a special attention to children who show artistic talent.

Speaking to journalists, the minister said the future of the music and other cultural arts depends on the training of children.

She said when children start to become familiar with cultural arts in the early stage of life, they stand the chance to become great artists to the wellbeing of the country.

The minister recognised the existence of many children with a talent for music, dance and other forms of art that, once assisted, can become good artists.

Rosa Cruz praised the organisers of infant song festivals that, she added, constitute the basis for survey of new talents.

Rosa Cruz e Silva was chairing the opening of the festival of infant song sponsored by the national department of the infant organisation of the ruling MPLA party.
