Makurdi — A Supreme Court Judge, Justice Aloysius Katsina-Alu, has applauded the present administration's rule of law posture, saying it has helped the judiciary to work better.
The jurist who stated this at the public presentation of the Revised Laws of Benue State 2004, also observed that the rule of law has enabled individuals to challenge wrongs in the society.
He said that rule of law has made the executive and legislative arms of government to appreciate the role of the judiciary, pointing out that the three arms now relate better.
katsina -Alu commended Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue state for approving money for the revision of Benue state laws up to 2004 and urged him to ensure that the laws were revised up to 2008.
In a remark at the occassion, Governor Suswam said the presence of the governors of Taraba and Nasarawa states was a mark of respect for Benue people and promised to promote regular visits between him and his two other colleagues .
He said the state was honoured by the visit of an eminent jurist, Justice Katsina-Alu, and disclosed that as a mark of respect for the judiciary, his administration has renovated all the High Court structures while over 80 magistrates have been given N1 million each for the purchase of a car.
