Ado — Tragedy struck weekend in Ureje Quarters in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State capital as five daughter of Mr. Mutiu Nurein, were found dead in the booth of his car.

Mutiu, a 35-year old butcher, at Okebola Area of the State had six of his female children locked up in the booth by unidentified assailants, with only one, Rasidat surviving the onslaught.

Narrating the ordeal to newsmen, Mutiu said he travelled on a business trip to Jebba in Kwara State on the said day, only to be called around 9 pm about the incident.

He said his two wives, Mulikat and Oja, who had him four children each had gone to town for their businesses, only for the senior wife, Mulikat to return home and could not locate the children.

After she had visited all the places she expected to find the children, Mutiu said she returned home and heard some noise coming out of the booth of the car parked beside their three- bedroom apartment.

He said it took those that came to get the children out of the car's booth about 20 minutes to get them out. But it was belated.

Mutiu said the only survivor was quickly rushed to Ado Ekiti Teaching Hospital for medical attention and the other five were deposited in the mortuary after being certified dead.
