Kickoff (Cape Town)
2 December 2008
Orlando Pirates are set to miss the services of their regular players Lehlohonolo Seema, Gilbert Mushangazhike and Lebohang Mothibantwa when they face Ajax Cape Town in their Absa Premiership game set at Johannesburg Stadium on Saturday.
Seema, Mushangazhike and Mothibantwa have been ruled out for the clash against the Urban Warriors due to yellow card suspensions.
Further bad news for the Ghost ahead of the game, dubbed as the dress rehearsal ahead of the Telkom Knockout final nbetween the two sides next weekend, is that Thulasizwe Mbuyane has still not recovered from his injuries.
Bucs' communication manager Mickey Modisane has, however, assured the club's supporters that coach Ruud Krol will come up with the best starting line-up on Saturday despite the absence of most of their regular players.
"The good thing about Pirates is that we have depth in every position. The absence of these players will give others a chance to claim their place in the team's starting line-up.
"Even though we want to win the cup final, it is also important for us to collect maximum points at home to keep ourselves in contention to win the league."
Happy Jele is set to replace Seema at the back whilst Mlungisi Gumbi is set to take Mothibantwa's place in central midfield.
Modisane has also announced that tickets for the game between Pirates and Ajax are already on sale at Computicket outlets around the country.
"The game starts at 20h00 at Johannesburg Stadium, not at Ellis Park Stadium as was previously announced," he added.
