Adi-Keih — The second phase of implementing the potable water supply project in Adi-Keih town at a cost of 60 million Nakfa through the collaboration of the Bidho Construction Company and partners is nearing finalization, according to Eng. Araya Habte, supervisor of the project.
He indicated that a water tanker with a capacity of holding about 700 cubic meters has been constructed in the town, in addition to the construction of other two in Hawatsu and Tekondae, as well as installation of over 21 km-long water pipelines.
Eng. Araya further pointed out that four water distribution stations have been constructed in the town, while similar facilities have already been put in place in Mendefera and Tekondae in a bid to enable the local inhabitants become beneficiaries of running water.
Noting that the entire project is expected to be finalized in mid January 2009, he pointed out that the cleanliness of the water has been ascertained. The project has created job opportunities for more than 200 nationals, the supervisor added.
