Newly promoted Tlokweng Naughty Boys frustrated BMC in their own backyard and earned a point by forcing a goalless draw at the weekend. Solid defending from Thatayaone Moshebe, Itumeleng Motlhabai and David Mfolo coupled with the alertness and agility of young goalkeeper Basimanebotlhe 'Cheeseboy' Moliwa did the job for Dinoko.
However, Naughty Boys should be worried by the failure to expose the evidently rusty BMC defence.
Alex Matshameko and Chakadza Pharo committed some schoolboy errors, which Galefetoge 'Dilo Dilo' Kenaope and Kgaodi Odirile failed to exploit.
There was confusion of roles in the BMC rearguard and midfielder Thapelo Ohilwe found himself doing defensive duties most of the time as Matshameko struggled. Both sides lacked creativity in midfield and Phemelo Ditsile for BMC looked rusty after a long lay-off due to injury.
He was supposed to have given shape but he failed miserably.
Pharo who was supposed to give the team the much-needed depth on the right lacked the basics on the day and easily lost possession.
Naughty Boys missed Ringo Rankgomo and threw under 20 winger, Kgaodi Odirile to the deep-end to spearhead the attack but the youngster was clearly overwhelmed and had to be substituted in the second half.
Tendayi Mutare was supposed to be the creative man in the Tlokweng side but he appeared more concerned with defending. Dinoko looked content with a draw and did little to get a goal. The introduction of Modise Motswadi by BMC late in the second half was intended to bring stability in the disjointed midfield and cool things down.
There were moments when Tapela Ngwenya's solo work seriously threatened Naughty Boys but Moilwa's form stood in the Zimbabwean striker's way. Second half substitute Kananao Kgetholetsile was frustrated by Moilwa's reflexes. Defender Motlhabai who is still recovering from a knee injury made a wonderful come back and neutralised attacks from BMC.
With Moshebe comfortable as a sweeper for Naughty Boys and marshalling his defence well, other defenders knew there was always cover if BMC strikers managed to break loose.
