Uganda: Kimbugwe on Fifa Duty List

Kampala — THE re-inclusion of assistant referee Hillary Kimbugwe on the referees list to adorn the FIFA badges next season was one of the few highlights as the names were sent back to the national federation over the weekend.

FIFA left out Kimbugwe last season, but was included on the current list together with Kalifani Kanakulya, who replaced suspended Robert Bukenya on the assistant referees' list. Centre referees have gone up from six to seven this year.

It will be the final year for Ali Tomusange, the only Ugandan to have officiated at the World Cup. He will next year clock 45 years, the maximum age for refrees.

Brian Nsubuga Miiro, who boasts of over a decade's experience -- having started refereeing in 1995 -- had his name added to last year's six centre referees.

Though FUFA acting Chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson said that he had not yet received the list, other sources from the federation confirmed the changes.

The final FIFA list

Referees: M. Segonga, A. Kalyango, F. Mufta, D. Batte, B. Nsubuga Miiro, M. Kubingi and A. Semambo.

Assitant referees: A. Ssonko, R. Kizito, D. Mukasa, A. Tomusange, N. Mubanda, H. Bugembe, Y. Kitti, S. Kayondo, H. Kimbugwe, K. Kanakulya.
