The D-Link DCS-3415, according to the company in a statement, is a high-end surveillance camera designed for the deployment in professional environments that require surveillance and security.

Every year, the International Forum Design organization receives an average of 2,000 entries from countries all over the world. The entries are then hand-selected by the iF Design Jury, picking a number of entries that fit the standards of the organization.

This year, the DCS-3415 was selected among a pool of 2,808 entries submitted by 1025 contestants from 39 countries.'We are very pleased to have received such a prestigious award from the International Design Forum,' says Harrison Albert, Regional Sales Director at D-Link Middle East. 'This year's competition was extremely competitive, and we will continue to use this momentum to create even better products', he adds.

The DCS-3415 is a network camera that offers recording abilities ideal for surveillance and security - especially in Banks and Financial Institutions, Government and the Hospitality Industry.

It offers a progressive scan sensor and Sony 18x optical zoom lens for capturing vivid images in MPEG-4 format. The built-in auto-iris feature and removable IR-cut filter enable this network camera to record in both day and night, making it suitable for 24-hour surveillance. The RS-485 port and DC12V allow the DCS-3415 to cooperate with external devices such as an IR illuminator or scanner, and the PoE ability allows for a single cable to connect and power up the device.

Commenting on the recent Dlink Award, the Dlink Regional Director for West Africa - Chris Uwaje said the feat did not come to him as a surprise at all, recognizing the fact that Dlink is acclaimed as the World's Number one Wireless Network solution provider. Infact our superior product quality has over the years earned us the acronym: "Committed to building excellent Network for the people'. Uwaje further said that the news of the Dlink International award is particularly very timely and will favor the Nigeria security environment - particularly for the Banks and financial institutions who have been instructed by the Inspector General of Police to install Digital surveillance Cameras in all their operational locations on or before January, 2009.

With this International Award, Dlink DCS-3415 should indeed be the solution of choice for the Nigerian banks and for State-wide Security solutions.
