Wako Kungo — Angolan Education minister, António Burity da Silva, Tuesday in Wako Kungo, central Kwanza Sul province, appealed to parents and guardians to have an interest in what their children do at school.
The official said so while addressing the first national Conference on Parents and Guardians Commissions (CPEE) taking place until November 4 in Waku Kungo.
According to António Burity da Silva, rather than a responsibility of the state alone, improvement in education is a concern to everyone.
He considered as crucial the importance of the role of parents and guardians in the academic success of their children, not only in providing moral and material support, but also, and above all, in raising their awareness about the importance of school.
To minister Burity da Silva, families can only know about school, teachers and their children, when they participate.
Burity da Silva said the success and boost of the CPEE requires parants and guardians to be aware of the importance of a close watch on their children's conduct at school.
He called for an articulation between the education of the family, the parents and guardians and the school.
