Ghana: Its We Against Ourselves - Papic

3 December 2008

Kosta Papic claims Hearts of Oak's true competition for the 2008/09 Ghana League season is themselves.

The Phobians play Berekum Arsenals who finished five placed above them last season but Hearts have started this term better than ever and feel it could be their year again.

The 2-0 win over Saint Mirren was the best start by the Phobians in the last season and Hearts insist it is the signs of good things to come for them.

The Serbian was unhappy about the manner of that victory and is demanding they do it in style against Arsenal on Wednesday at the Ohene Djan Stadium.

"Hearts of oak is one of the biggest clubs in Africa and so winning the league title is an obligation to win the league title and we are going to fight for it," he told KickOffGhana.com.

"But if the first game is a sign of how we will play this season then we must forget about the title even though i am convinced we will get better as the season goes on."

Papic has the change to start against Arsenal and thinks they have the quality to triumph in a league he says has many potential winners.

"Everybody has got quality players this season so it depends on how consistently you use the quality player to win the league. Everybody has got the chance to win the League, everybody has some kind of desire inside so it depends on the consistency, mental strength and physical fitness of the players of course.

"There are a lot of good teams in the league this season, many clubs want to win the League just as we want to but I am only afraid of hearts of oak. If we are not performing, if we are not doing what we are supposed to then we will put ourselves into trouble and anybody will think it is possible to beat us."
