Angolan minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva, Tuesday expressed concern at the invasion caused by the urbanisation of Benguela and Baia-Farta cities over the region's stations of archaeological excavations.
The minister was speaking at the end of a visit to Benguela she started on Monday for contacts with the region's cultural reality.
Rosa Cruz e Silva spoke out for an urgent concert among concerned institutions in order to put an end to anarchical occupation of the stations believed to contain archaeological materials past of humanity.
Data from the National Archaeological Museum, in Benguela, indicate that the region has more than 47 archaeological sites whose history covers a number of sites containing neolithic and paleolithic material.
According to sources linked to the institution, an inventory has sorted out 8,112 objects related to the ancient history of the region that could be anarchically occupied.
In addition to efforts to stop the said invasion of the archaeological stations the minister recommended the training and upgrading of museum personnel in order to make them better perform their duties.
